The Foley Area CARE Program would like to give a big thank you to Jay Svihel for quickly
responding to our need for produce during our fresh produce giveaway. On Monday, July 11th our program was burdened by not receiving fresh fruits and vegetables from Second Harvest Heartland as planned. Lines began to form without any product in site. While the staff was getting nervous, Tommy Kaproth contacted Jay Svihel and he rose to the occasion and supplied our residents with fresh peaches, cantaloupes, and cucumbers. We would also like to thank Tom and Paige Henry for their generous donation of hamburger to pass out also during the event. Recipients were so pleased to receive such a wonderful gift. We are so blessed to line in a community where our residents see the value of giving. The Board of Directors and staff at Foley Area CARE appreciate your continued support of our program.
The CARE Program work diligently to incorporate programs to benefit our local community. We attempt to partner with organizations with goals and commitments that are in line with our mission. Even with the best of intentions, sometimes things don’t go the way we plan. We are so fortunate to have the support of the community and organizations like the Duelm Lions Club. Their motto is “We Serve”. The look for service projects to better the community and how privileged we are they’re willing to partner with the Foley Area CARE Program to disperse the food to the community. Thank all of you again for your gracious donations and for your spirit of giving in our neighborhood.
