Thrivent Financial Members working with C.A.R.E.
Did you know that Thrivent Financial Members have two ways to work with the Foley Area C.A.R.E. Program? Thrivent Choice is a charitable grant program that gives eligible members of Thrivent Financial the ability to recommend where Thrivent Financial distributes some of its charitable funds each year by choosing from a list of thousands of enrolled 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organizations. Foley Area C.A.R.E. is on the list of charitable organizations to choose from for your giving. Watch for a link on our website.
Do you want to do something positive in the community? Another way Thrivent Financial Members can support Foley Area C.A.R.E. is through a Thrivent Action Team. You simply submit an online application and once your idea is approved you will receive $250 in seed money to help cover promotional, production and material expenses.
Service projects can include:
- Building a ramp for the elderly
- Purchase smoke detectors, grab bars or flashlighs for seniors
- Fundraising events
- Purchase gas cards for volunteers
- Minor home repairs
- Purchase fresh produce
- Health & educational needs
Recently Ron and Kathy Botzek used their action team proceeds of $250 to assist C.A.R.E. with the purchase of pork chops for our annual dinner and silent auction event. Jean Tiedt also supported C.A.R.E. by donating Thrivent Choice Dollars directly to our program.
Each Thrivent member is allowed 2 service projects to support each year. So this means both you and your spouse can support up to 4 service projects each year. If you have children age 16 and over they too are eligible for two service projects each year. Why not consider supporting a local nonprofit like C.A.R.E.
